Raised between Italy and Corse Marianna, after a secondary school focusing on humanities, completed her Pharmacy Degree knowing that her future would be inside a laboratory but not a chemical one. Before and from that time she started working in the travel industry and joined several independent courses to satisfy her curiosity and to improve her knowledge and understanding of the industry.

She has managed and collaborated with several hotel companies as regards strategic decisions involving both overlooking the smooth functioning of the hotel, (including budget definition and implementation, definition of market, commercial and communications, supervision and control of their implementation), and planning and implementing marketing and commercial strategies (including revenue management). In the last few years her focus has been on internet and new media.

Marianna is also involved in various freelance projects to expand her work experience. She is senior consultant for “Mind Lab Hotel”, a company that stems from the desire of some eclectic hoteliers to share their experiences and knowledge and which aims to assist hoteliers in unravelling in the sea of Marketing, Social Media and Revenue Management.

Her research over the last few years has focused on the opportunities offered by the web to travel, art and culture industries. In this context, she is the co-founder of “Invasioni Digitali” (Digital Invasions), an online crowdsourcing initiative started in Italy in 2013 with the aim to promote the value of and engagement with local heritage.The goal is to spread the culture, the local beauty and history, using the power of internet and social media.

She has contributed to several international conferences, including the Digital Heritage in Marseille, the Museums & the Web in Florence (Italy) and Baltimore (USA) and MuseumNext in Geneva as a best practice.

She has served in several committees, including the executive committee EBTT Tuscany, a No profit corporation between entepreneurs organizations and trade-unions which manages and promotes studies, research, experimentation, documentation, information and evaluation; and Federalberghi, a corporation between hotel owners and managers that organizes and stipulates National job contracts, develop and support scientific activity to analyze the market, promotes business education of the entrepreneurs members, promotes and guards the companies in their activities.

She is currently involved in several tasks as running workshops on creative marketing strategies (Europeana Space and Maxxi Museum); creating strategic marketing plans for travel destinations; lecturing in managing and promoting marketing strategies for travel
